Ethernet Virtual Private Line Service (EPL / EVPL)

Available from 10Mbps to 100Gbps full-duplex, our Ethernet services are well suited to high-capacity transport of any type of data flow between two or more points.

The EPL service
This service provides an Ethernet virtual connection (EVC) between a pair of dedicated user-network interfaces (UNIs) with a high degree of transparency.

The EVPL service
This service provides VLAN-based Ethernet Virtual Connection (EVC) that allows for extending the customer's LAN Network (LANex) to multiple sites while benefiting from advanced functionalities, as well as the resiliency of Fibrenoire's IP MPLS backbone network.

Scalability

Description

The EPL / EPVL service is a Layer 2 service delivered to each site by local fibre optic loops routing traffic to Fibrenoire’s IP MPLS backbone network. Depending on the location of the sites to be connected and the availability of fibre optic capacity, Fibrenoire uses different local loop technologies.

Since EPL / EVPL is a Layer 2 service, our customers can fully manage their Level 3 activities (IP addresses, BGP, OSPF or any other routing protocol). They can themselves manage the type of priority traffic switched on the circuit, allowing them to prioritize different types of traffic without Fibrenoire’s intervention.

SLA

A proactive Service Level Agreement (SLA), including our SLA standards applicable to local loops and the IP MPLS backbone network.

Billing

Flat fee or unmetered billing based on the access speed.

  • JumboFrame supported, Maximum Service Frame size is 9022 bytes (Ethernet Payload MTU is 9000 bytes)

MEF develops Carrier Ethernet architectural, service ,and management technical specifications and implementation agreements to promote interoperability and deployment of Carrier Ethernet worldwide.

Fibrenoire became the first MEF Carrier Ethernet 2.0 Certified telecommunication company in Canada in July 2013. This certification gives the assurance to our customers that our network is compliant with the highest standards of the industry.
